How did you get involved with the Regional Quality Council and The Arc?

I have supported people with disabilities in many capacities since I was born.  I have a family member with a disability.  This drew me to spending most of my adult years working in the disability supports field.  As a result, I joined the Region 10 Quality Assurance Commission in the early 2000s.  When the Regional Quality Councils were formed it was natural that I would want to serve there as well.  I have been involved in the Council since its inception.  When I had the opportunity to become the Coordinator for Region 10, after my retirement as an Executive Director of a non-profit, I jumped at the chance to do this work full-time.   Positively impacting the systems that are in place for people with disabilities is important to me.  I hope my efforts make a difference in the lives of people.
