How did you get involved with the Regional Quality Council and The Arc?

For the last 19 years, I had been supervising an Adult Foster Care home with individuals who had a TBI. I found this work to be extremely rewarding and educational, however, I was ready to find something new that would challenge me in a different way. I saw a job opportunity on Indeed to be the Arrowhead Regional Quality Council Program Coordinator at The Arc Northland in Duluth, MN and I applied. I knew nothing about The Arc or Regional Quality Councils, so I had to do my research. As I began researching (on this website) what these agencies do, I was totally impressed by the work, and embarrassed I had not known. I knew at that moment, I wanted to work for The Arc Northland and the Arrowhead Regional Quality Council, I wanted to be a part of the work and change they were making for all people. I started my employment in January of 2022, and I can say, this has been one of the best years of my life. I have learned so much and look forward to all the possibilities that lie ahead and all the great work that still needs to be done.
