The purpose of this group is to review regional critical incidents in 245D settings and evaluate the systemic influences that contribute to them.
The goal of this workgroup is to increase competitive and integrated employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The workgroup is well aware people with disabilities face many barriers when it comes to attaining affordable and accessible housing.
The Transportation Workgroup knows people need access to reliable sources of transportation in order to live quality lives.
Purpose:
Promote the value of direct care workers and address the workforce shortage to meet the needs of people with disabilities.
Past Work Groups
The Metro Regional Quality Council operates under an equity and justice framework. In order to be intentional in this work, we have identified 3 main outcomes that we are working towards.
The MRQC staff have been involved in various efforts to change the systems around safety, abuse, and neglect for people with disabilities.
The MRQC staff have been closely involved in self-advocacy efforts at The Arc Minnesota by providing support, guidance, and technical assistance.
The direct care workforce is large and is one of the highest-demand and anticipated growth sectors in the U.S. and Minnesota.
The Metro Regional Quality Council gathered employment-related information through listening sessions, focus groups, informational interviews, and Person-Centered Quality Reviews. This information guided the employment work completed by the MRQC.
